STEP 01
Start with one working surface
Clear a single section of counter. Put away items that belong elsewhere, wipe the surface, and return only the tools you use most days. Keep the rest accessible but out of the way.
STEP 02
Build zones around your routine
Group preparation tools near a clear worktop, cookware near the stove, and mugs near your kettle or coffee maker. Keep frequently used items between waist and shoulder height where possible. Never store flammable items beside a heat source.
STEP 03
Give your pantry a simple order
Check dates and packaging instructions, then group breakfast foods, grains, canned goods, and snacks. Move older items to the front. Keep original labels or copy ingredients, allergens, and expiry dates when decanting.
STEP 04
Make drawers easy to put back
Sort utensils by purpose, not size alone. Use existing boxes as dividers before buying organizers. Leave a little empty space so a drawer does not become a puzzle every time you unload the dishwasher.
STEP 05
Keep the system working
Before shopping, take a quick look at what you already have. Once a week, return misplaced items and check food dates. Adjust any zone that feels awkward instead of forcing yourself to use it.
